Shashank Mishra is a computer scientist with a passion for computer vision, deep learning, and NLP. Shashank completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from India before embarking on a successful career as a software professional, where he led a team of software professionals at Persistent Systems.
Driven by his love for Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and real-world problem-solving, Shashank pursued a Master’s degree in Intelligent Systems and Scientific Computing from the Technical University Kaiserslautern, specializing in Computer Vision. He has been working in the field of computer vision for the past 5 years, with a particular interest in sensor fusion, object detection, and 3D semantic reconstruction. During his Masters, Shashank has also worked on time-series forecasting and natural language processing, particularly for the energy industry, with Fraunhofer ITWM, where he has developed cutting-edge predictive maintenance solutions.
For his Master’s thesis, Shashank focused on the area of sensor fusion, specifically birds-eye view camera images with radar sensors for 3D object detection in an automotive environment. His proposed architecture, “RC-BEVFusion,” achieved excellent results in the nuScenes detection benchmark, showcasing his exceptional skills and knowledge in the field. Shashank is also a published researcher, with his Master’s project being published in the MDPI journal, a testament to his commitment to advancing the field of computer vision through his research.
