Abstract:
We present NoiseVis3D a framework for the interactive three dimensional visualization of traffic noise. The framework allows the visualization of noise maps in new ways including multilayer 2D maps, volume rendering of noise and isosurfaces besides the usual visualization of 2D noise maps. The three dimensional visualization allows the users to explore the virtual city model and immerse themselves in the current sound situation. The possibility to integrate additional information into the model enables the illustration not only of noise exposure but also vital information for decision makers, investors and local residents.
