Abstract:
Winter pruning in orchards is essential for shaping future growth and improving plant health, but it remains a labor-intensive process, traditionally performed manually. Labor shortages and the need for specialized training challenge farmers. We introduce an augmented reality (AR) assistant that enables inexperienced workers to carry out pruning for grapevines, reducing wound size, boosting resilience, and improving yields. We further apply this concept to other fruit trees with the highlighted improvements.
