Anna Katharina Hebborn studied Computational Visualistics at the University of Koblenz. In 2013, she wrote her master’s thesis in cooperation with industry at metaio GmbH and received her master’s degree. Afterwards, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Koblenz in the Institute of Computational Visualistics at the Chair of Computer Graphics. Her research interests were in the areas of augmented reality, rendering and tracking. In doing so, she took advantage of an extended research stay at Fraunhofer Singapore at Nanyang University. In addition to research, Anna Katharina Hebborn has also held teaching responsibilities in the field of computer graphics. In 2021, she completed her dissertation entitled “Towards Believable Augmented Reality: Combining the Real and Virtual Worlds.” Her dissertation focused on the problems of tracking, environment reconstruction, and realistic occlusion between the real and virtual worlds. Before joining the Augmented Vision department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI GmbH) in Kaiserslautern in March 2023, she worked in industry at makerist GmbH, driving developments in augmented reality. Her interests and passion are still in the field of augmented reality, tracking and rendering.
