Ahmed Tawfik Aboukhadra is a Ph.D. student in the AV department since October 2021 under Prof. Didier Stricker. His main research direction is hand-object 3D pose estimation and shape reconstruction. His research includes developing robust Deep Learning networks using Transformers and Graph Neural Networks. His first publication is THOR-Net which was published in WACV2023.

Ahmed received his MSc degree from Maastricht University in the Netherlands in 2021. His Master’s thesis was at CISPA in Saarbruecken with Dr. Yang Zhang and it was about Machine Learning privacy. During his Masters, he also did an internship at HackerOne in the Netherlands about NLP. He received his BSc in Computer Science from the German University in Cairo (GUC) in 2019 and his bachelor’s thesis was about OCR using Deep Learning at Ulm University with prof Friedhelm Schwenker.
