Abstract:
In this paper we present a method and application to perform time-dynamic multimodal visualization. Multi-modality is achieved by combining multiple volume data sets and additional geometric information, which is seamlessly blended into the volume renderings. A dedicated transfer function can be assigned to every volume. The geometric structures can be textured, be of arbitrary opacity, and are rendered correctly along with the volumes. We demonstrate the usefulness of the method with several examples.
