Jan Hirzel received his masters degree (M.Sc.) in computer science from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt (Germany) and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville (USA) in 2010. During his studies he spend one semester in the U.S. at the University of Platteville in Wisconsin and another semester working for NISLab in Gjøvik, Norway. He finished his degree with a thesis on “Fixed-Length Feature Vectors for Biometric Template Protection for Fingerprint Recognition” and a paper on the use of “Fingerprint Recognition with Cellular Partitioning and Co-Sinusoidal Triplets” presented at the BIOSIG Conference 2010 in Darmstadt.
He is currently pursueing a Ph.D. in the field of Computer Vision. Research interests include Computer Vision, Visual Object Detection and Visual Object Tracking.
